Catching up with old friends

It's funny how my friends seem to ebb and flow during the course of my life and it seems like the last few weeks have brought some of my nearest and dearest out of the woodwork. I ran into my Jerry at the screening of Seventy-8 the other night and finally have a current email addy for him again. I hope that I'll get to actually see him soon and get caught up, I really miss knowing him. Todd and Carly (the newlyweds, woohoo!) were at the club on Thursday so I got to wish them well before they leave for Japan on Sunday. Raynell is looking for a new job so we've actually gotten to talk on the phone several times in the last week. My Shelly and I have been playing phone tag this week and I'll hopefully get to have a marathon phone call with her on Sunday. Btw, happy anniversary to she and Lowen yesterday. :) Jules has a cello concert tonight in Dallas and we're hoping to hang out with her tonight afterwards. And last but certainly not least, BRIAN AND CASEY ARE HOME!!!…

End of the month mortgage prayer

I would have posted this yesterday but I was working a very long day. I survived another month end, y'all! Woohoo! :)

--------------------------

Anyone who has any knowledge of the mortgage industry will definitely appreciate this. Thanks Heather!

Last night as I lay sleeping
I died or so it seemed
Then I went to Heaven
but only in my dream

Up there St. Peter met me
Standing at the Pearly Gates
He said "I must check your record
So please stand here and wait".

He turned and said "Your record
Is covered with terrible flaws,
On earth I see you rallied
For every losing cause."

I see that you drank alcohol
And smoked and goofed off too,
Fact is, you've done everything
A good person should never do.

We can't have people like you up here
Your life was full of sin,
Then he read the last of my record
Took my hand and said "Come in."

He led me up to the big boss and said
"Take him in and treat him well
He worked within the Mortgage business
He's done his time in hell&qu…

Has it really been two weeks?

Gods I'm getting really lazy about this thing...actually we've been busier than one-armed paper hangers so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :)

I've got the birthday pix posted at:

Barry's Birthday!

There are pix of every birthday event up there. Whew, my baby had a good birthday!

Speaking of birthdays, I forgot how many birthdays I celebrate in the month of April. Last weekend we went to FW to celebrate Lowen's birthday and had a *blast*, tonight we're celebrating Kevin's birthday and tomorrow night we're celebrating Preach's Sarah's birthday. Casey had a birthday last weekend but since they're still in Chicago we weren't able to honor her in person...she gets a rain check for when they get home. Jon had a birthday earlier this month, but he's been in California the whole time so I had to just leave him a voice mail. Happy birthday to all my wonderful Aries peeps!!!

My company sent us to Six Flags last Saturday as a thank …

Happy 4/20!

Hope everyone enjoys the day. :)

Complaints of a modern day vampire

This went out over the DGL ages ago and I found it while cleaning out my inbox...hope y'all enjoy it!

1. Grunge look makes it tough to tell living from the undead.

2. Hard to get a decent puncture with latex on your fangs.

3. Three Words: Daylight Savings Time

4. Can't enjoy a meal at Burger King without some redneck yelling, "Look
Ma! It's Elvis!"

5. After 45 years of Communist rule, it's impossible to find clean, uncontaminated
Transylvanian soil for bottom of coffin.

6. No bat is safe with Ozzy Ozbourne around.

7. No warm blood for miles around DC.

8. Exhausted from all those Calvin Klein photo shoots.

9. No small task beating F. Lee Bailey to a warm body.

10. Buxom wenches of old have been replaced by aerobicized "hardbodies."

11. Baboon heart makes everything taste gamey.

12. Sick and tired of being mistaken for Keith Richards.

New viruses, LOL!

Here's a funny to start everyone's week off. Thanks to my friend Heather for sending this along! :)

The George Bush Virus - Causes your computer to keep looking for viruses of mass destruction.

The Clinton Virus - Gives you a permanent Hard Drive with NO memory.

The Al Gore Virus - Causes your computer to just keep counting and re-counting.

The John Kerry virus - causes the floppy to flip flop on its stored memory.

The Bob Dole (aka Viagra) Virus - Makes a new hard drive out of an old floppy.

The Lewinsky Virus - Sucks all the memory out of your computer, then e-mails everyone about what it did.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger Virus - Terminates some files, leaves, but will be back.

The Mike Tyson Virus - Quits after two bytes.

The Oprah Winfrey Virus - Your 200 GB hard drive shrinks to 100 GB, then slowly expands to re-stabilize around 150 GB.

The Ellen Degeneres Virus - Disks can no longer be inserted.

The Prozac Virus - Totally screws up your RAM, but your processor doesn't care.

The Jo…

Almost done with the birthday, whew!

Wow, this last two weeks has been like a birthday celebration blur!

We kicked it off the weekend before his birthday with a local hockey game Saturday night where the words "Barry's Birthday Bash" appeared on the scoreboard thanks to my friend Kari. It was his first live hockey game and it was a blast! We're already planning to go see the Stars this year assuming we actually *have* a hockey season... Easter Sunday we had a very decent brunch buffet at a downtown hotel with his family. The actual room the buffet was in reminded me of the Overlook Hotel from the Shining and kinda creeped me out. I kept expecting Jack Nicholson to appear and try to kill us, LOL! Barry was soooooooo disappointed that retail stores here in the South are closed on Easter so he wasn't able to spend his birthday money immediately. Poor baby! ;-) That night we went to the club and made it official with a midnight toast followed by a double lap dance from me and Punky Spice. We had to paus…

I know I haven't been online lately

But we've been celebrating Barry's birthday in a big way and are still not quite done yet. I promise to blog again soon and give updates!

Dead giveaway ;-)

We're home from a wonderful weekend of camping so here's a joke to start the week off. Yes, we definitely did some drinking this weekend! LOL!

-----------------------------------

While cleaning out my inbox, I found this joke from my friend Heather. It's definitely funny enough to share! :)

A DEAD GIVEAWAY

Boudreaux staggered home late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Thibodeaux. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Clotile.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.

Managing not to yell, Boudreaux sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the mirror to see that his cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a band-aid as best he could on each…

Heading to the woods!

I know it's been days since I've posted here and I apologize to anyone who actually takes the time to come and read my little blog. I've been busy celebrating Barry's birthday and I've also just worked 47 hours in 4 days at work to finish out month end. But now finally I get a day off to head camping, WOOHOO! It's looking like it's going to be cold at night so we're definitely going to have a roaring fire going at the site. I'm sure Kevin will be able to take care of that without a problem. :) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
