For My Rory...

I found this just now while I was out surfing and it made me cry so I had to post it. Okay so she was a girl, but the sentiment still applies... MySpace Layouts

Homophobia Awareness

I'm reposting this one from Brian because I think it needs to be said. Feel free to repost it if you want to, but I at least hope everyone reads it. No one, I repeat NO ONE should be treated badly or differently because of their sexuality! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= I am the boy who never finished high school, because I got called a fag everyday I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman. I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights. We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time. I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room. I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me. I am not one of

If Life Were Backwards...

Okay now *this* would be the way to go!!! Thanks to Country Shelli for sending this one along. :) The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get in the end of it? A death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. (1) You should die first, you know, start out dead, get it out of the way. You wake up in a an old age home, feeling better every day. (2) You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. (3) You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, you're generally promiscuous (hey, you've only got a few years left, what's the big deal?!?) and you get ready for High School. (4) Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, and, finally, you become a baby; (5) The last step, you spend your las

RIP Duchess of Bitchy

Image
We had to take Rory back to the emergency vet today to help with her passing. We then took her to our wedding site and buried her (and Baxter too) under our tree that we got married in front of. Special thanks to everyone for their thoughts and wishes and visits during this time, it's been a challenging weekend for me but y'all made it far more bearable. I'm blessed to have such good friends around me. Here's what my baby looked like shortly after she adopted me: and here's what she looked like yesterday: Farewell to My Rory, the Duchess of Bitchy, Giggles McBoomboom (porn star name), Bitchy Smalls (gangster name), Little Rory Underfoot and the very first Bitchy Girl. My life is better for having had you in it and I'm so glad you picked me.

The Rory Death Watch *sob*

My baby girl has been acting really sickly the last week. She was looking a little better there for a couple of days but got worse last nite. By this morning it was time to take a trip to the emergency vet. After some tests and a significant chunk of change, we decided to bring her home so that she can pass comfortably here. I'll be home cat sitting until it's over. Y'all please send thoughts of a peaceful, easy passing for her. She's 13 and has had a full and wonderfully adventurous life being the bitchiest cat ever. She will be horribly missed. :-(

Things I Learned From Working Nights

This is not a joke post, I really learned some valuable lessons these last two weeks. Here are the top five: 5. Not getting to see B is a very bad thing in my world. 4. It is impossible to have a night job and a daytime life at the same time. 3. Reading makes me sleepy, therefore it is not possible to get homework done while trying to stay up all night. 2. Taking time to do nice things for myself becomes more important the more tired I become. And the number one thing I learned from working nights... 1. Lack of sleep can cause a mental breakdown that resembles a psychotic break. Having never tried to pull a graveyard shift before, I had no clue how hard it would be to keep up with the other things I'm responsible for in my life. Now I know and knowing is half the battle. I'll be a little more reserved the next time I schedule myself to work nights. :)

How Boyish or Girlish Am I?

Yeah, okay, like this is a shock to anyone... ;-) You Are 70% Boyish and 30% Girlish You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch. Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes. You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them. You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be. How Boyish or Girlish Are You?

Natural Highs

And while I'm posting sentimental-type things, here's one that Country Shelli sent me the other day. I think I'm gonna try to keep this in mind over the next few days when I'm working nights, sleeping days, and basically not being a participant in my normal life. :) Natural Highs 1. Falling in love. 2. Laughing so hard your face hurts. 3. A hot shower. 4. No lines at the supermarket. 5. A special glance. 6. Getting mail. 7. Taking a drive on a pretty road. 8. Hearing your favorite song on the radio. 9. Lying in bed listening to the rain outside. 10. Hot towels fresh out of the dryer. 11. Chocolate milkshake (vanilla or strawberry). 12. A bubble bath. 13. Giggling. 14. A good conversation. 15. The beach. 16. Finding a 20 dollar bill in your coat from last winter. 17. Laughing at yourself. 18. Looking into their eyes and knowing they love you. 19. Midnight phone calls that last for hours. 20. Running through sprinklers. 21. Laughing for absolutely no reason at all. 22. Ha

The Way to Live Life

Here's a little something that my friend Joy sent to me...I definitely needed to hear this today so I thought I'd share. :) Two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face." They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life." The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied, "When someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it awa

R.I.P. Baxter

B's beloved pink-toed tarantula , Baxter went to the great rain forest in the sky last nite. We will miss her dearly. :-(

Which Empire Records Character Am I?

Image
You're, well ... a little slutty. You get in a fight with your best friend and what do you do? Sleep with her dream man. Rex Manning, no less. You're a sweetheart, who generally does have good intentions, but you sometimes lack good judgement and have some self-image issues. Promiscuous ways aside, you're witty and clever, and are the kind of friend who would hand over their bra for a friend who wanted to seduce a pop-star-has-been. Fun Little Meme

Here's one that Zippo the Pirate started and I *had* to continue. Here's a picture of the stuff on my fridge: Let's start in the center, shall we? Since I have soooo much stuff on my fridge... We have the Rocky Horror lips, which is one of my all-time fav movies that I have a small but meaningful collection of memorabilia from. Also, there's my magnetic Bettie Page dress up doll, her outfits/accessories are on the lower section and also mixed in with the other stuff on the fridge. The funny, pink, fluffy thing was a Valentine's gift from a coworker this year. It's a clothespin with a little angel on it, just in case you can't tell from the pic... Top left we have a little B section rocking with his hand thingie that I have no idea what it is, skull n crossbones, and little voodoo New Orleans guy. Then there's Gomez, nuff said. Moving clockwise, there's my Wicked Witch magnet, my hillarious, little sticker that My Shelly gave me some years back, B

News of Jen

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I wrote a Jenni update so I thought I'd better take a few minutes and git 'er done! I've been on spring break from school all last week and this week too, and it's been *so* nice to have my evenings back and kinda reclaim my brain functions. I start back Monday night and already have my text book so I'm planning to start reading ahead. This one's a law book and will probably be a challenge to make myself read. :) B's birthday is at the end of the month so I've got Evites out for his two events: one in town and one weekend getaway. It was my evil plan to get his birthday stuff organized while I was on spring break, so go me for getting it done! :) On the money/work issue, I'm still doing contract office stuff one day a week and it's not helping me much. Still tho, I'm grateful to have any kind of work since my brain tells me that work and/or money is the measure of my worth and it's been challengin

How this happened, I will never know...thanks to My Shelly for finding it tho! :) Boldly striving to overcome the darkness both in this world and within yourself, you are righteously devoted to forging your own destiny. It's your choice, but I warn you not to underestimate my powers.

Couple of Bra Jokes :)

Here's a couple of oldies but goodies. :) What Religion is Your Bra? A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's, shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife. "What type of bra?" asked the clerk. "Type?" inquires the man, "There's more than one type?" "Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable. "Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose from." Relieved, the man asked about the types. The saleslady replied: "There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian, and the Baptist types. Which one would you prefer?" Now totally befuddled, the man asked about the differences between them. The Saleslady responded, "It is all really quite simple...The Catholic type supports the masses. The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen

Here's a site that Billy found this week that is definitely worth sharing. When you visit be sure to click on the cow, and then watch the video. It's well worth it! :) http://www.cowabduction.com/

21 Points to Ponder

Country Shelli sent me this nested in a chain mail yesterday, but I truly needed to hear it. Thought I'd share. :) ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives. TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly. THIRTEEN. When so

Does This Ever Happen To You?

Ever have one of those days where no matter what you wear and no matter how many people compliment you, you still feel like a troll? Yeah, it happened to me yesterday...oh and I ended the night by feeling old too. Sweet! Hope today is a better day, not sure I can do that one again.

Geez, I'm a Sucker for a Puzzle Game!

A friend of mine from school had this book of puzzles with him in class last week and I made the *huge* tactical error of asking him what it was. It's this logic puzzle called Sudoku and it's ridiculously addictive but I'm digging it. Here's the link for any of you brave souls who have time for a new addiction...enjoy! :) http://www.websudoku.com/ Oh, btw, you can change your preferences on this site to make it even easier for yourself and I highly recommend it. {g}

The First Time...

Here's a fun little meme that Da Jules posted out on myspace. Wheee, cherries! :) 1. Who was your first prom date? That would be Howard (the Duck as my Dad called him) and we never actually made it to the prom that nite. Dinner and the hotel was plenty of a date for me! 2. Who was your first roommate? My very first roommate was JD when I was 18 and working at Domino's. We lived so ghetto...very embarassing. 3. What alcoholic beverage did you drink when you got drunk the first time? First drunk, that would be at my great aunt's 90th birthday party and I was drinking champagne then switched to daquiris. Ouch, was I ever hung over the next morning! 4. What was your first job? Unofficially it was working for my sperm donor doing data entry. Officially it was Burger King...started on fries and worked my way up to the drive thru. LOL! 5. What was your first car? The Majestic Booger. She was a green, 1970 Monte Carlo and I loved her so! 6. When did you go to your first funeral? I

Past Life Analysis

Ganked this one from Zippo , very interesting! :) Your past life diagnosis: I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Bulgaria around the year 1600. Your profession was that of a jeweler or watch-maker. Your brief psychological profile in your past life: Inquisitive, inventive, you liked to get to the very bottom of things and to rummage in books. Talent for drama, natural born actor. The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation: Your lesson is to learn discretion and moderation and then to teach others to do the same. Your life will be happier if you help those who lack reasoning. Do you remember now? ------------------------- Okay, it's not sparking any memories. It's funny tho, I used to wear a *ton* of jewelry and now I hardly wear any. I definitely see the drama talent carrying thru. LOL! Discretion and moderation...good to know what my purpose is

Entertainment Update: For the Rocky Horror fans!

We did one of the coolest things we've done in a long time last night and I *had* to tell you guys about it. Collin County Community College is currently staging a production of the Rocky Horror Puppet Show, which I'd never heard of before last nite but was morally obligated to check out. The back story is that someone at the college wanted to do a puppet show and Rocky Horror somehow got into the mix of possible subjects and finally won out. The college crew actually adapted the stage version of Rocky to include puppets, most of them life-sized, one larger than life-sized, and the larger puppets were operated from the catwalk above the stage like marionettes. They added an audience of famous puppets to the sides of the stage where you could see such puppets as Hitler, Jesus, Madonna, Gene Simmons, and Michael Jackson, to name a few. They also had a balcony where two puppets strangely reminiscent of Statler and Waldorf from the Muppet Show were doing some of the screamers. Ther

Ten Thoughts to Ponder

My buddy Keith sent this to me and I had to pass it on. Good morning, everyone! :) Ten Thoughts to Ponder for 2006 Number 10 - Life is sexually transmitted. Number 9 - Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. Number 8 - Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny. If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich. Number 7 - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks. Number 6 - Some people are like a Slinky...not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs. Number 5 - Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing. Number 4 - All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism. Number 3 - Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents? Number 2 - In the 60's, people took acid to make t
